Located as its name suggests in the Cotswolds this company has 5 shops it also sells from its website (www.cotswoldco.com) and from catalogues. They offer free delivery for orders over £500, and they will ship to Europe (separate delivery charges apply). 1st for Furniture has a large selection of ranges on offer, but they also sell leather sofas and chairs, cane and rattan furniture, and glass furniture. .

Dwell
This company focuses on modern, contemporary affordable furniture. The majority of their furniture is flat packed; it all comes with easy instructions. They operate from showrooms and the internet. There are all sorts of furnishing accessories, sofas, bedding and artwork as well as standard furniture ranges. Delivery of Dwell furniture varies from £15 to £50 plus. For a look more original than Ikea but with the same assembly issues and it’s inexpensive too.
